Anna Barbara (Bernthal) Gugel (12 February 1830-31 March 1872) came to Frankenmuth in 1846 with her parents and siblings, following her brother and sister who first settled Frankenmuth the year prior. She was married to Johann Michael Gugel on 28 December 1852. Barbara died the day after giving birth to her tenth (by my count) child; it was Easter Sunday. Her daughter, Margaretha Barbara, survived.[1]
